This is my first BR player... well actually third because I returned the first two I bought. For better or worse BR requires that you be able to update your firmware for the latest greatest movies. A player without any internet connectivity will require you to download the updates and burn them onto a DVR. Being able to watch Netflix online, play YouTube directly, and plug in your camera's SD memory chip in directly with slideshow viewing support is fantastic. This player connects directly to the internet with a LAN cable, unfortunately a network USB adapter is not supported.

Setup 5/5
Menus/Functions/Ease of use 5/5
Gorgeous Picture 5/5
Attractive low profile design 5/5

Connected to a 1080 TV with a HDMI cable, the picture is crisp and absolutely beautiful.

Update: It's May now and I still love this player lots, was reviewing my reviews and noticed I forgot to mention that it upscales standard DVD's incredibly, and even my old movies look substantially crisper and clearer, almost 3d by comparison to standard.
Great Player, Awesome New Features!

Reviewer: Morgan Kaye Kelley,
I've owned this player for about a year now and it has continued to work flawlessly.
I love the new features added via viera cast, they make it all the more worth the money.
With the addition of Netflix this player has proved to be a great addition to my home theatre system.
I recommend it wholeheartedly.
So far so good

No Netflix access

I purchased this player based on the reviews that stated it would access Netflix. This is untrue. I called Netflix when I failed to access Netflix in any fashion. I asked if there was a special disk like the one that is available for the Wii. Netflix said no, this blue ray player cannot access Netflix.
